For our founder, Currency, that journey has meant facing life’s hurdles, pushing through difficult days, and working towards a better future.
Having experienced the struggle of building a music career with limited resources, Currency understands what it means to have talent and ambition but few opportunities. As his hard work began to bring financial success, he decided to use what he had earned to create opportunities for others.
That decision gave birth to IJE EGO Records.
Our purpose is to discover and support talented artists who are still struggling in the streets, just as Currency once did. Through artist development, creative guidance, and support with recording and promotion, we aim to give them a platform to be heard and a foundation for lasting careers.
We know there are gifted artists whose circumstances keep their music from reaching the world. IJE EGO Records exists to help them take that next step—with people who understand where they are coming from and believe in where they can go.

A Nigerian hip-hop and trap artist based in Onitsha, with roots in Ebonyi. Currency’s music draws on struggle, survival and the determination to keep moving when support is scarce.
His debut EP, BAD DAYS ARE GONE, reflects on the difficult days he survived and the person he is becoming. As founder and first artist of IJE EGO Records, he is building a home for his music—and a way forward for others.
